Sports Medicine Physicians

Sports Medicine Physicians are medical doctors with special training in preventing, diagnosing and treating issues and injuries that keep you from being active.  Whether the activity is sports, work or school, we have a diverse toolkit to empower recovery.  In addition to our ability to put the pieces of your current symptoms and medical history together and perform a detailed examination of your body, Sports Medicine Physicians can:

  • Provide Education and translation of anatomy, pathology and physiology terms into understandable concepts
  • Order and interpret Lab tests and Imaging
  • Perform Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
  • Prescribe Medications and Equipment
  • Give Therapeutic Injections (ex-steroids,  hyaluronic acid)
  • Perform Minimally Invasive Procedures (ex- dry needling)

Athletic Training

Athletic Trainers are certified healthcare professional who specialize in sports medicine. We are trained to prevent, diagnose and treat injuries and medical conditions. We specialize in designing individualized programs that gradually progress an injured person back to their specific activity.

Athletic Trainers work alongside the Sports Medicine Physician and independently in the clinic to:

  • Teach Therapeutic Exercises
  • Identify Functional Deficits
  • Apply Manual Therapy
  • Design Return To Play programs
  • Customize Injury Prevention programs
  • Improve Athletic Performance

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapists are movement experts who help people improve and maintain function and achieve goals.  We evaluate how an individual’s movement patterns, anatomy, and exercise habits contribute to symptoms.  We also focus on how behavior and lifestyle affect both immediate recovery and long-term ability.

Physical Therapists can customize treatment by:

  • Applying Pre-Operative therapy protocols
  • Directing Post-Operative physical therapy
  • Performing Manual Therapy
  • Prescribe Therapeutic Exercises
  • Diagnose Functional Deficits
  • Providing Pain Science education

Chiropractic

Chiropractors are healthcare practitioners with specific training in the musculoskeletal system, the combination of our bones, muscles and joints. We are most recognized for spine care but treat many different body regions. We focus on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of issues that affect mobility, function and athletic achievement.

Chiropractors can:

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is targeted bodywork and manual manipulation with the specific goal of improving athletic function. The practice of Sports Massage falls into 4 general categories: Event Massage, Recovery Massage, Maintenance Massage and Rehabilitation Massage.
